The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) offers over 10 miles of heritage railway running through South Nottinghamshire and North-West Leicestershire, passing some of the region's best landscapes. The railway is entirely owned and operated by a dedicated group of volunteers who continue to develop the line as one of Nottinghamshire's premier visitor attractions. Journeys begin at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, located just south of Nottingham, and continue south through to East Leake or Loughborough. Check-out or "Visitor Information" page to see all that you can see and do, and our Timetables and Operating Dates pages have full train service details.

We actively encourage new members and volunteers to get involved with the maintenance and operation of our growing fleet and the railway in general.Check-out the "Volunteer" link above for details and if Diesels aren't your thing, check-out the pages for the Structures Group and the S&T Group (links at-left).
