GCRN: Supporting Industry and the environment
British Gypsum (BG) is headquartered at East Leake, the company's largest
production facility. BG moves raw materials to the site in
purpose-built wagons, haulage of which is contracted to EWS and GB Railfreight.
The trains operate from Loughborough to East Leake on Great Central Railway
(Nottingham) rails, helping British Gypsum operate efficiently and
supporting the company's commitment to the environment. Gypsum Services operate
twice daily, Monday through Friday.
Partnering with the Rail industry
Great Central Railway (Nottingham) has an enviable reputation and history of
partnerships across the rail industry. Since 2000 MTR Training have hosted
training courses at our facilities, including possession, infrastructure
maintenance, equipment and safety courses. MTR Training retain facilities
on-site at Ruddington.
GCRN were also one of the key sites to support Network Rail Autoballaster
training, our 10-mile line offering excellent scope for operator training in a
live environment.
In 2005 the opportunity to extend the showcase came with the ARTP-sponsored
Infrastructure exhibition, bringing over 20 infrastructure, services and
maintenance providers to our facilities. June 2007 marked a further, similar
event.
Other regular partners include DBShenker, Network Rail, SilverTrack and
GBrailfreight.
With 10-miles of ex main-line infrastructure, workshop facilities, excellent
direct connections to both the National Rail network (via Loughborough), and the
local road network (via Nottingham), GCRN offers unparalleled facilities for
testing, type approval and training.
GCRN has a specific point of contact for our industry partners, ensuring that
your requirements can be discussed and met. With a long and established
